The Governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa, has reacted to the statement by the Presidency which faulted the resolve of the Southern Governors open grazing in the region.

The Presidency in a statement on Monday described the resolutions as “acts of politicking intended by its signatories to demonstrate power.”

A statement by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, tackled the governors, stating that it was an attempt to violate the rights of some Nigerians.

While reacting to the presidency’s claim, Governor Okowa who is the Chairman of the South-South Governors’ Forum, said there was no going back on the resolution reached recently at Asaba, the Delta State capital.

In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Olisa Ifeajika, Okowa said it does not matter how the presidency perceived the ban.

He stated, “They said act of politicking and so what? If they want to call it politics, it is nothing to us.”
