An 18-year-old girl early hours of Monday allegedly set her boyfriend, Chidinma Omah, ablaze at ZakiBiam street in Wadata surburb of Makurdi metropolis in Benue State.
This is the fourth incident within the space of three months of persons setting themselves or lovers on fire in the state.
The teenage girl, Esther Alex, carried out the act about 2:00am on Monday.

It was learnt that neighbours alerted to the scene following a loud scream by the victim helped to rescue the young man who is said to be severely burnt and has been taken to the Federal Medical Centre in Makurdi for treatment.
Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for Benue Command, DSP Catherine Anene, confirmed the incident, stressing that the 18-year-old poured petrol around the victim’s one-room apartment before setting it on fire.
“We don’t know yet why she did that. We are yet to question her but I can confirm that she (girl) has been arrested and brought to our custody.
“The incident happened about 2:00am today (Monday) at ZakiBiam street in Wadata. We will let you know further details,” the PPRO added.
