Ex-NUJ secretary offers kidney to Ekweremadu’s daughter

A Nigerian journalist and immediate past Secretary of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kaduna State Council, John Adi, on Friday morning announced his intention to donate one of his kidneys to Sonia, the ailing daughter of Senator Ike Ekweremadu.

He announced this on his v Facebook page.

“I, Comrade John Femi Adi, a Kaduna-based Journalist and farmer hereby announce my ‘agape’ decision to donate one of my kidneys to Senator Ekweremadu’s beautiful daughter.

“I am doing this on God’s order in the Holy Bible to Love our neighbours as ourselves.

TheLead had reported that 24-year-old female skit maker, Annastasia Olamma, had earlier offered her kidney for Sonia, only to announced few days later that her family was against her decision.

Sonia had announced that she needed a kidney donor because she had been diagnosed with rare kidney disease, FSGS Nephrotic Syndrome, even as she called on Nigerians to save her life.

The Ekweremadu’s daughter , had taken to her Instagram page to made the plea on Monday, amid ongoing case involving his father in the United Kingdom following an organ trafficking allegation connected to Sonia’s ailment.
