Panic and uncertainty have reportedly spread across bandit hideouts in Kogi State following the successful exhumation and evacuation of the remains of notorious bandit kingpin, Kachalla Baccujo, by security operatives.
The operation is said to have unsettled members of the criminal network formerly led by Baccujo, including some of his close associates, who were reportedly shocked to discover that the grave of their late commander had been emptied.
Sources familiar with the development said several bandits had visited the gravesite to pay homage to their fallen leader, only to find that his remains had been removed. The discovery reportedly triggered confusion within the ranks of the criminal group and raised fresh concerns about the reach of security agencies.
Security sources believe the operation has further reinforced the message that no criminal network is beyond the reach of law enforcement authorities.
