The Federal Government has arraigned three men before the Federal High Court in Abuja over their alleged involvement in the abduction of pupils and teachers from a school in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.
The defendants, Abdulrazak Umar, Yunusa Musa and Shamsu Adamu Sani, are facing a 10-count charge bordering on terrorism, kidnapping, concealment of information, incitement and illegal mining.
According to the charge filed on Friday, the three men allegedly conspired with other suspects identified as Muhammad Sani, Jibril Mohammed and Ibrahim Khabab between January and May 2026 to carry out the kidnapping of schoolchildren and teachers in Oyo State.

The prosecution alleged that the conspiracy contravened Section 26(1) of the Terrorism (Prevention and Prohibition) Act, 2022.
Court documents identified Umar by the aliases Abu Khalifa and Abu Khalid, Musa as Yunusa bin Musa, and Sani as Abu Itisar. The three defendants are all from Suleja Local Government Area of Niger State.
The Federal Government further accused the defendants of providing support for the abduction and deliberately concealing information about the identities, movements and activities of the alleged masterminds despite having prior knowledge of the planned attack.
In addition to terrorism and kidnapping-related offences, the suspects are also facing charges linked to illegal mining activities.

The case is expected to proceed before the Federal High Court in Abuja, where the defendants will answer to the charges brought against them by the Federal Government.
The prosecution is relying on the provisions of the Terrorism (Prevention and Prohibition) Act, 2022, as it seeks to establish the alleged roles played by the defendants in the school abduction and other related offences.
