The incident reportedly created tension at the polling unit, with voters forced to leave as the situation became unsettled, disrupting the voting process.

The development has raised concerns over the conduct of the Osun governorship election, particularly amid heightened concerns about violence and intimidation in parts of the state.

Some party agents alleged that the suspected thugs were members of the All Progressives Congress (APC). However, the APC agent at the polling booth, Mrs Abogunloko Olufunke, denied the allegation.
